Issued pursuant to the decision of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Jordan No. (2023/206), effective from 13/08/2023.

The amendments include:

• Article (11) of the original instructions was amended by rephrasing Paragraph (B) to require the organizational structure of insurance companies to include, at a minimum, the Board of Directors, all executive senior management and their committees, a separate internal audit department, technical and support departments, subsidiaries and their foreign branches, and clear separation of responsibilities and duties.
• Paragraph (D) was rephrased to require submission of the organizational structure to the Central Bank whenever any modifications are made, and to allow the Central Bank to request any modifications it deems necessary to the organizational structure.
• Article (12) of the original instructions was amended by adding Paragraph (H) to Clause (2) of Paragraph (B), stipulating that recommendations must be made to the Board of Directors for approval regarding the appointment, resignation, or dismissal of any key employee in the insurance company.
• Article (24) of the original instructions was amended by rephrasing Paragraph (B) as follows:
  "B- The insurance company shall regularize its status within a maximum period ending at the date of the first general assembly meeting of the company held in 2024 concerning the following matters."

These instructions apply to all licensed insurance companies in the Kingdom, as well as any person practicing insurance activities without a license or approval, or any activity related to insurance operations that requires obtaining a license under the provisions of the law.

The instructions detail the violations and corresponding fines imposed on insurance companies or any of their board members, employees, non-insurance companies, and insurance service providers as a result of committing such violations.

These instructions aim to define the terms and conditions for issuing an insurance policy for participants in the Adventure Tourism Trips Program. They include the insurance benefits and their limits, as well as the exclusions applicable to personal accidents suffered by the program participants.

The instructions stipulate that insurance companies must segregate the assets and liabilities of general insurance operations from those of life insurance operations. Insurance companies are required to maintain available capital of no less than 150% of the required capital. In cases where the insurance company has a branch outside the Kingdom, the company must maintain available capital of no less than 200% of the required capital.

The instructions also specify the components of the available capital and the method for calculating the required capital.

These instructions set forth the minimum capital requirements for insurance companies engaged in general insurance, life insurance, or both general and life insurance, as well as the minimum capital requirements for reinsurance companies and registered companies.

Issued pursuant to the decision of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Jordan No. 2022/181 dated 29/09/2022.

The amendments include the addition of a new article concerning the receipt of prior approval requests from medical service providers. The response time to approval requests for outpatients, emergency departments, and emergency hospital admissions shall not exceed seven minutes from the time the approval request is received. For other cases, the response time shall not exceed twenty minutes.

Additionally, a new article was added exempting self-funded funds from any fees or charges when applying the services stipulated in these instructions.
